BIOGRAPHY

The Morrígan is the darkest Goddess in Celtic mythology, incorporating the multiple personalities of Badb, Macha and Nemain.  She is the very embodiment of terror, and a symbol of war, sovereignty and death.  Able to shape shift between wolf, crow and human form, legend has it her screams can immobilise an entire battlefield.

The biography of NEMHAIN is not a legend. Although front woman Amber aka Morrigan Hel does resemble a real Goddess, and has a voice of enviable power, she neither brings death nor war – but the finest Rock’n’Roll!

After forming the band one fateful night back in 2006, NEMHAIN released their first EP “Blood Runs Free”.  Word spread, along with copies of their EP, and the world got its first dose of the rock n roll plague!

NEMHAIN had the honour of early recognition, becoming Rocksound Magazine’s “Band Of The Month”, and established a firm fan base from their intense live performances.  A support slot for legendary Australian rockers Rose Tattoo soon followed.

The US producers of the “Anniversary of Brutality: The Misfits 30th Anniversary” album, on hearing about the band, asked them to contribute a cover to their release.  The result was a thunderous version of the Misfits classic “Die, Die, My Darling”, bearing the unmistakeable NEMHAIN stamp.

In 2007, the band concentrated honing their live performances, and getting to know their fans with a series of live shows.  This included a European tour, playing once again alongside Rose Tattoo and Municipal Waste, plus festival appearances at the likes of Hard Rock Hell and Bloodstock, together with Rock’n’Roll reprobates such as In Flames, Arch Enemy, Twisted Sister and Saxon.

NEMHAIN started 2008 in style, with showcase gigs in Los Angeles during the NAMM convention, before locking themselves away at Gothenburg’s infamous Studio Fredman  to record their debut album, “From The Ashes”. A few months’ hard work and the album is ready to be unleashed upon the world (and the band is ready to get on the road and party once again!)

With their debut “From The Ashes”, NEMHAIN (who are: Front woman Amber, her husband Adrian Erlandsson (ex- Cradle Of Filth, At The Gates and The Haunted), and their band mates Lisa, Lakis and Sam) deliver dark and dirty, old school Rock’n’Roll.  Honest, straight, evil.  It has been a veritable “Rock’n’Rollercoaster” so far.  Now they have joined forces with Tiefdruck-Musik,  Come and join us for the ride!

“From The Ashes” is 12 tracks full of energy, tinged with punk, metal and blues, played by five passionate musicians who love what they do and live for rock music!

The first single “Second Skin” features additional vocals by none less than The Haunted singer Peter Dolving  This proves to be a brutal pairing, giving the song an explosive edge.
